National Lok Adalat will be organized on May 11 in District Court Complex Panchkula and Sub-Divisional Level Court Kalka- CJM and Secretary, DLSA Rajesh Yadav

Cases pertaining to cheque, family cases, MACT cases, traffic violations, Motor Vehicles Act and other criminal and civil cases will be taken up in the Lok Adalat

Panchkula - Under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Sh Ved Prakash Sirohi, National Lok Adalat will be organized on May 11 at District Court Complex, Panchkula and Sub-Divisional Level Court, Kalka. Separate benches will be established at both the places for the National Lok Adalat.


While giving this information here today, Sh Rajesh Kumar Yadav, CJM and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) said that cases pertaining to cheque, family cases, MACT cases, 138 N.I. Act, traffic violations, Motor Vehicles Act and other criminal and civil cases will be taken up in the Lok Adalat. He said that a help desk is also being set up in front of the Litigation Hall, District Court premises as well as the DC office building, where legal volunteers will be put on duty. He has appealed to the general public to bring the maximum number of cases in the Lok Adalat. He said that a large number of pending cases can be settled in Lok Adalat, thereby saving both time and money.


Secretary, DLSA also informed that Jail Lok Adalat is also organized twice a month on the first and third Wednesday. Apart from this, cases at pre-litigation stage related to electricity, water etc. can be settled in the Permanent Lok Adalat established at District ADR Centre, Panchkula wherein cases can be filed on any working day. He appealed to the general public to get the pending cases and cases at pre-litigation stage settled in Lok Adalat. He said that there is no appeal for the cases settled in Lok Adalat.

Sh Yadav said that online traffic challans will also be settled in the Lok Adalat. The traffic police have been asked to bring maximum online traffic challans in Lok Adalat and also inform the people over phone to settle their challans in Lok Adalat. Besides, concerned Tehsildars have also been asked to settle the mutation cases and inform the DLSA office. He said that meetings are being held before the Lok Adalat, so that maximum cases can be disposed of. Legal aid advocates are organizing camps in villages and hamlets and informing people about the upcoming National Lok Adalat.
