Panchkula – Yash Garg, a senior IAS officer of 2009 batch, assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula today. He was accorded a warm welcome by the officers of District Administration on being arrived at Mini Secretariat, Sector-1 here.

In an order issued by the state government on Sunday, Yash Garg has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula and Chief Administrator, Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula.

Before being appointed as DC Panchkula, Garg was holding the post of Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) and Haryana Financial Corporation.

Yash Garg has a vast experience in the administrative service. He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, Rewari and Rohtak and as Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Faridabad (MCF). Before, MCF, Garg was deputed as Director and Special Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department and Advisor and Special Secretary, Civil Aviation Department.

 


Garg holds an MBBS degree from Maulana Azad Medical College and had worked as Junior Resident Doctor at Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi. He had ranked sixth in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2009.

After assuming the charge, the Deputy Commissioner held an introductory meeting with the senior officers of district administration and shared his vision. At present, his foremost priority is to ensure the conduct of Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 in the district in a fair, transparent and peaceful manner while following the Election Commission guidelines, he said. For this, he directed the officers to work as a team. He also reviewed the preparations being made for the successful conduct of Elections in the district and gave necessary directions.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Gupta, SDM Panchkula Gaurav Chauhan, City Magistrate Mannat Rana, CEO Zila Parisahd Gagandeep Singh and DTP Rakesh Bansal were also present.
