Government raised the Old Age Allowance Rs 550 to Rs. 600 per month - Geeta Bhukal

Chandigarh, Feb 27- Haryana Government today raised the Old Age Allowance to Rs 600 per month from existing Rs 550 per month  thus benefitting over 9.83 lakh beneficiaries in the State.

          An announcement to this effect was made by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Mrs Geeta Bhukal while replying to a question asked by BJP MLA Mr Krishan Pal Gujjar during question hour in the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, here today.

          Mrs Bhukkal said that this enhanced pension would be admissible from April 1,2012.

          She said that at present a total of over 12.87 lakh beneficiaries are getting Old Age Allowance and out of them more than 2.92 lakh are getting it at a rate of Rs 700 per month.

          She said that the present State Government led by Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda had raised the Old Age Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 500 and Rs 700 per month. From April 1, 2010, it was further raised from Rs 500 to Rs 550, she added.
