Five countries of the world have expressed their interest to increase trade with Punjab

Amritsar. Five countries of the world have shown interest in expanding their business and investing capital in Punjab. Some countries are considering Punjab as better for them in the field of IT and some are showing interest in the field of oil production.


Fiji's High Commissioner Nilesh Roneel Kumar, Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador ACKAP Askar Beshimov, Bangladesh's High Commissioner Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman, Uzbekistan's Trade Economic Counselor Khurshidbek Samiev, Indonesia's Trade Attache Bona Kusuma reached Amritsar during the 17th PITEX being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Punjab Invest CEO (IAS) DPS Kharbanda held the meeting here.

 

During the round table conference held at PITEX VIP Lounge, Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador ACKAP Askar Beshimov said that 100 new industries are being set up in India by his country. Many of these industries will also be established in Punjab. He took detailed information about the schemes being run for industries from DPS Kharbanda. He said that business matters will be taken forward in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishing and mines.

Fiji's High Commissioner Nilesh Roneel Kumar said that the effect of better relations between India and Fiji can now be seen in Punjab also. He showed interest in doing business with Punjab in the fields of production and tourism. Uzbekistan's Trade Economic Counselor Khurshidbek Samiev held talks with representatives of Punjab Government regarding the future of natural gas and minerals industries.

 

 

Indonesia's trade Attache Bona Kusuma told DPS Kharbanda that in his country, companies of crude palm oil, electrical equipment and rubber products are considering India as their biggest market. Due to the high consumption of crude palm oil in Punjab, he gathered information about various formalities with the Punjab government regarding setting up industries in this area.

CEO of Invest Punjab said that many districts in Punjab are mustard producers and Ludhiana has the highest number of mustard oil companies. Bona Kusuma said that industries can be established to promote the exchange of mustard oil and crude palm oil. The Indonesian trade representative also demanded further correspondence with the Punjab government in this regard.

On this occasion, DPS Kharbanda said that after the formation of the new government in Punjab, 3893 investment proposals have been received so far. Whose proposed investment is Rs 59 thousand 318 crore and three lakh five thousand employment. He said that electricity tariff subsidy worth Rs 2910 crore has been disbursed during the current financial year. Apart from this, incentive amount of Rs 100 crore has also been disbursed to 132 units. A budget of Rs 3258 crore has been arranged for subsidy for the year 2023-24.

On this occasion, Deputy General Secretary of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naveen Seth said that the Chamber has made an effort to bring the Punjab Government and foreign representatives on one platform. So that industrial capital investment can be increased in Punjab. PHDCCI Punjab Chapter Chairman R.S. Sachdeva said that through this round table conference, many countries are expected to invest in Punjab in future. Correspondence will be maintained with these countries by the Punjab Government.
