BALKAR SINGH CONDUCTED A REVIEW MEETING WITH OFFICIALS FROM THE HEAD OFFICE AND COMMISSIONERS OF MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS TO DISCUSS DEVELOPMENT WORKS

THE PUNJAB GOVERNMENT IS DEDICATED TO OFFERING BASIC FACILITIES, A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT, AND IMPROVED CIVIC SERVICES TO THE STATE'S RESIDENTS.

CABINET MINISTER URGED OFFICIALS TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION ON DEVELOPMENT WORKS RELATED TO MLAS IN THEIR CONSTITUENCIES, ENSURING ALIGNMENT WITH RESIDENTS' NEEDS.

Chandigarh - The Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government is committed to providing basic facilities, a clean environment, and enhanced civic services to the state's people.

In furtherance of this goal, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh held a review meeting with department head office officials and commissioners of Municipal Corporations in Phagwara, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35, Chandigarh. Instructions were given to expedite project completion under various schemes.

During the meeting, the Minister for Local Government strongly emphasized the need for planned development in state cities, coupled with maintaining cleanliness in Urban Local bodies. He reviewed the status of development works under the Amrut Scheme of Urban Local Units, Swachh Bharat Mission, Punjab Urban Improvement Environment Program Phase 1, 2, and 3. The officials were instructed to utilize pending funds according to guidelines for development works benefiting the people.

Balkar Singh discussed various issues related to making urban local units garbage-free, scientific waste disposal, wastewater management, pending building plans, and plot regularization.

Cabinet Minister urged officials to share comprehensive information on development works related to their constituency's MLAs, ensuring alignment with residents' needs. Additionally, he emphasized timely implementation of development schemes and proper fund utilization.

Minister appealed to officials to work diligently and cooperatively, highlighting the government's commitment to a corruption-free administration. He warned that anyone involved in corruption would not be spared.

The meeting was attended by Local Government Department Secretary Ajoy Sharma, PMIDC CEO Deepti Uppal, Local Government Department Director Uma Shankar Gupta, Municipal Corporation Commissioners, and other senior department officials.
